The short answer

Start with what your company already has and already pays for, and use it with a work account. Everything else is fine-tuning.

Why not “the best”? Because AI tools change every few months, and today’s leader may be in second place tomorrow. What doesn’t change is your company’s environment, your data and your work. So that’s what we base the choice on.

Question one: where your company works

Where to start

Which email and documents does your company work with?
Microsoft 365
Copilot Chat on a work account — usually already included.
Google Workspace
Gemini in your work account.
Neither, or need more? → a ChatGPT or Claude business plan.
What matters most isn't the vendor but the word “work”: a work account, business terms, company control.

For companies on Microsoft 365: signed in with a work account, Copilot Chat is available at no extra cost on eligible plans and comes with enterprise data protection. A paid Microsoft 365 Copilot licence brings it right into Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams, working with your company’s documents.

Question two: where your data goes

The same model can run under different terms:

  • Work account and business plan — vendors usually commit not to use your data to train models, and IT can see who uses the tool.
  • Personal free account — the terms are different, and chats can often be used to improve the model unless you switch that off in the settings.

Before you buy, read the vendor’s business terms, not the advert. Why this matters — in the lesson How to start using AI at work (safely).

Question three: what the AI has to do

  • Write and analyse — emails, summaries, spreadsheets, texts. All the main tools can do this, and they do it well in Lithuanian too.
  • Act — create files, use a browser, work with your apps. For that you need AI with tools (often called agents). Choose them deliberately: they get more done, but they can also make a mistake in your systems.

The lesson Build a new website in 1 hour shows what working with an AI that acts looks like.

Question four: what it costs

  • Free plans are fine for trying things out, but they have limits — on the number of messages and on features.
  • Paid plans for one person usually cost about €20–30 a month. Prices and plan names change — check on the vendor’s website.
  • Before buying for the whole company — a month’s trial with a few people.

The best test is your own work

Rankings measure general things. What matters to you is how the tool writes your emails in your language and how well it understands your spreadsheets. Let AI plan the test:

Help me compare two or three AI tools on MY work, not on rankings.

ABOUT ME
- Job and most common tasks: [e.g. replies to clients, proposals,
  Excel reports]
- Which tools I can try: [e.g. Copilot with my work account, ChatGPT]

PROCESS
1. ASK. Ask me the missing questions, one at a time.
2. TEST. Suggest 3 real tasks from my work and one identical prompt
for each. The tasks must contain no personal or confidential data —
if needed, make up an anonymised example.
3. SCORING. Prepare a table: task → tool → accuracy, language,
   usefulness (1–5) → notes.

GOAL
The job is finished when I have a filled-in table based on my own tests and
a clear recommendation — which tool for which tasks.

RULES
- Don't make up prices or features. If you don't have today's information,
write down what I need to check myself.
- Answer in English.

AT THE END
Separately — WHAT YOU DID NOT CHECK.

🤖 AI route recommended

The AI plans the test

The AI picks the tasks and writes identical prompts; you paste them into each tool and bring the answers back. The AI puts together the table and the conclusion itself.

Your job: judge the answers as someone who knows the work. Your judgement is the most important part of the table.

✋ Manual route

Three tasks, two windows

  1. Pick three real tasks from your work — without confidential data.
  2. Open two tools side by side and give them the same text.
  3. Score each answer from 1 to 5: is it accurate, is the language good, is it useful.

What to do this week

  1. Check whether your company already has AI with a work account (e.g. Copilot Chat).
  2. Use the prompt above to test two tools on three of your own tasks.
  3. Show the result to your manager or IT — it could become the basis for a company-wide decision.
